EXHIBIT GALLERIES |
Permanent Exhibits
Many of DeGrazia's favorite paintings
are elements of theme collections. The subjects for these collections vary from Spanish
exploration of the Southwest, to Indian lore, legends, and celebrations, to documentaries
on bull fighting and the rodeo. These special collections, plus a retrospective exhibit,
make up the museum's permanent exhibits.

the canvas, but how much I leave off."

Rotating Exhibits
In an attempt to exhibit all of the originals in
its collections, the museum rotates the various forms of DeGrazia's art throughout
the gallery. This allows visitors not only to enjoy original oils and watercolors,
but to view bronzes, enamels, ceramics, stone lithographs, serigraphs, and jewelry
created by the artist.

DeGrazia's Little Gallery
DeGrazia's Little Gallery provides
visitors to the Gallery in the Sun with the unique opportunity to experience
both the past and the future of art in Southern Arizona. The small building,
which was constructed in the early 1950's, was the original gallery at the Swan Road
location. Today, the facility is used to present the works of selected up-and-coming
artists who reside in the area.
Beginning in 1983, the year after
the artist's death, the DeGrazia Foundation decided
to reopen the Little Gallery in order to give exposure to visiting local
artists. The exhibits in the Little Gallery rotate every two weeks, starting in the
Fall through early Spring. This charming exhibit space supports the cultural arts,
and provides visitors the opportunity to meet with the artists.
